At heart’s core.

My ally passed a month ago.
Tears poured, dismayed by reminiscence.
Would I cry if he were foe,
Seein’ him in a coffin narrow.

I wept, breath nearly ceased.
A hellish fire ignited his absence.
Veins drained, ill and diseased.
Forsook me that soul released.

Sober reflections knocked at door,
When placebo was mind’s dominance.
Bred poison at heart’s core.
Cumbersome memories flew healin’ sore.
