Let’s be the instruments of peace

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God (M: 5-9) as Jesus has stated; “peace I leave with you, peace I give to you”. So we have to strive hard for that interior peace which is the foundation for the world peace.

So, what is the interior peace? Answer is “love” of course it is the “Loving ability”. My dear brothers & sisters let me share with you the loving character of Martin Luther King Jr. As a civil right leader he worked selflessly for the well being of the mankind and joined the struggle for the black people’s rights. In spite of all the obstacles, he won his campaign by nonviolence. In front of large gathering he had his famous speech called “I have a dream”.

“I have a dream that one day the sons of former slaves and sons of the slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.”

As students we are given a special vocation to be the instrument of peace. How we can do it…..?

  • Being a Challenge to my own selfish thoughts.
  • Being a hope for my parents dream.
  • Being a “Good Samaritan” to my neighbor
  • Being a good listener for other’s ideas.
  • Being a leader to guide our youngsters.

Therefore, let’s try to be the instruments of Peace with God’s love in this blessed ‘Year of Peace’!
