There was a place;

Where we gathered and talked

Sharing our thoughts, fears, and hopes

Connecting hearts with emotional force

There was a time;

Where we gathered and talked

Then came the phones

With marvelous codes

Connecting the world

Just one second long

Likes and hearts are all over the phone

Feelings that are great and heroic on the phone

Lots of comments day by day

Came to the posts

But, can’t find a real friend

To call back and talk

What happened overseas? –

They want to know

What happened at their homes? –

They don’t know

Day by day time goes by

Faster than they thought

Finally, they realize that

They’re connected, but alone.
