It was the winter

cold with frost

I saw a tree

all leaves were gone

Writhen with the wind

while fighting for the lost

It’s standing alone

Dark night came with the

howl of the wolves

More and more snow

fell across the forest

It broke the branches

all that it owns

I saw a tree

It doesn’t cry for the lost

Days go by faster than everyone thought

Because of the sun’s rays

snow is gone

There was a leaf bud in

one surviving branch

I saw a tree

It’s budding with hope
