“Waking up every day, sometimes not knowing what exactly the day is going to be like, sometimes putting things off, procrastination and anxiety, all these fancy terms might be the thoughts we have early in the morning. One day you wake up with a very peaceful and calm state of mind whereas on some days it is completely the opposite.
I am not sure if this happens with everyone or whether there are people who are managing to not have any such negative thoughts for years in their life. But I, really want to believe that these kinds of days are there in the majority of our lives. Then am I a loser? Am I a lost soul? incapable? or am I not good enough? These thoughts do mess up young people quite a lot. Regardless of the fact that I am trying every single day, today is such a bad day for me.”
The above thoughts you read were my thoughts yesterday. But looking at myself today. It is totally different. I am fine. I am confidently fine. I am happy, genuinely happy about how I am feeling today. But from where does this problem come. How come some days we feel like we are drained? And the very next day we are perfectly fine. I believe it is the time that we need to accept that we are human too but the very next moment let us try to put that bit of anxiety away and start to believe in our confidence. Throughout our body, all the chemical processes, all these biological activities are taking place. We are dealing with the outer world when our body does a whole big process inside. So we are actually dealing with the outer world as well as with our own selves, physically, mentally, and most importantly biologically. “What we think, we become”. So if we constantly think “I am not enough” “Why I am not successful like that person” “Is she working well than me” “He is far better than me”, these thoughts can totally affect your state of mind, body and its biology. What I believe is, our minds are like clean canvases every single morning, from the second we wake up, this canvas starts to paint its own piece of art. At the end of the day, the picture we paint in our minds using our own thoughts will create either a beautiful masterpiece with small mistakes or a total mess where we find it hard to look at it and then we go to bed with a drained mind.
“A beautiful masterpiece with small mistakes”. Why the masterpiece should have small mistakes, you might think. This is the fact we need to accept. Let us stop being too hard on ourselves. If you miss some work for the day, if you got your work in a wrong way, if you are guilty about your procrastination, if you are not happy with your social life, if you are bad in your family affairs, if you messed your work at an office, etc., let us stop being stuck with that guilt every day. That actually brings no value.
Accept the fact that mistakes can happen but let us strive not to repeat the same mistake. Then your canvas of mind will definitely produce its own masterpiece. That is where we need confidence. Let us be confident about every move we make. If you need to achieve anything you want, confidence is the key player. For anything. You might laugh, but some people might be extremely confident about being lazy. That is a different story and I leave that to them. But let us see the positive side. If we need to get some work done today. Before anything else, we need to believe in ourselves. We need to trust ourselves that we are capable of achieving it. This is what we call confidence. That is why I say confidence is a key player in this journey. If you are not confident then what is next? That is where we should build it up. Why we lack confidence, might be we are not knowledgeable enough about the subject. Then first let us work on it. Educate yourself about the subject. Create a background. Then Step on to the playground. Do not spend too much time on preparations and planning, because life is a journey and through that journey only, we start to learn so many new things. What I am trying to say is you do not have to be extremely anxious about your capabilities. Yes, you need to develop your capabilities, but that does not mean you need to be extremely perfect or flawless.
Once you start your tasks with confidence, then along the journey you will educate yourself and achieve greater heights. These greater heights do not have to be higher than that of your colleagues, your classmate, your relative, or any other human being on earth.
All that matters is your process of development. Your journey of self-development. If you believe and if you feel you have developed yourself as an individual along this journey, then trust yourself. You are successful. And you can be better than that too and that will be your next success story too.
