We all have a dream, of travelling to some beautiful places with the person we love. That’s true we select places with tons and tons of natural beauty.
‘Sandha thenna’ a place in Nuwara Eliya ,which is now famous among the tourists as the ‘2nd worlds end’.
The entrance to the place is from Seetha eliya farm, where we can reach the plain by a safari jeep in a 3km long travel. The visiting hours are reduced to 7.30 in the morning to 6 oclock in the evening.
What makes the place more awestruck than the other places in nuwara eliya?
Its known that N’Eliya is the best city in Sri Lanka which connects almost all the misty natural tourist points.
Still, Sandha thenna,the moon plain stands out from all others for the view it gives.
Early in the morning or near to the sunset, when the mists dissolve slowly, we could have a 360 degree view from this plain. The spectacular thing about this view is that we can see 9 peaks of the 11 tallest mountain ranges in Sri Lanka.
They are; Pidurutalaga, Single Tree Mountain, Kikiliyamana Mountain, Great Western Mountain, Konical Hill Mountain, Kirigalpoththa Mountain, Thotupola Mountain, Hakgala Mountain and Namunukula Mountain .
There is no word one could explain the splendid view of 9 peaks together. This could be the best place a nature lover can visit. Sandha thenna , makes us feel the warmth of nature with soulful satisfaction of being with nature.
