Now She’s Free

Share

On the 26th of August, 1920

A great battle was fought in Tennessee,

With a sign from Secretary Colby

Women were able to vote, and were free.

A decades long fight for equality

Refusing to submit and bend the knee,

Amongst Mott, Susan, Stone, Wells, and Cady

Were brave women, in number, so many.

The suffrage movement was a vital key

In fighting oppression of you and me,

Thus we mark, in honor of this decree

Women’s Equality Day, now she’s free.
