Twelve and a half years have gone by
Lavender came to the neighbourhood
As the sweetest blue eyed Siamese kitten
One has ever laid their eyes on
Sarah and Lavender often take walks
Lavender loves the evening light
As the sun slowly sets over the horizon
Creating the lavender orange skies above
Twelve and a half years have gone by,
Sarah and Lavender slowly walks by
He isn’t as young as he was yesterday
But he still stops to smell the flowers
On the same path they’ve walked on for over a decade
Someday soon he shall leave to the same lavender skies
That he had adored every day of his little life
And Sarah’s world will come colliding down
But he’ll always have a place in her heart
And also in mine
He’ll always be there as a ghost of a memory
At the back of our minds
