Light, After Darkness

Share

Walking down the alley

As I feel, the crunch of gravel beneath my feet

My mind, running in circles

Visiting frenetic fluttering of dreams I buried

Hopes I entombed

As clouds fall to the ground

Daubing my face with splashes of cold

They broke free, pouring down

I could feel them diluted, less warm

It’s not too late

light

The more they fell, the less I felt

My mind, still there, panting yet running

Caged in the heavy shell of life

As I wander deeper into the tunnel, I see no end

But I can find

Pacing as I feel the cold dawn air

Refreshing my soul, as I found my key

Now I see the end, my destiny

The tunnel ends as I step out bracing the light

It’s the light, after darkness…
