Catholic Students’ Movement of University of Colombo in collaboration with FOCUS is organizing the UoC carol service this year also. Our main motive is to launch a meaningful Christmas program in the University to improve mutual understanding and inculcate inter religious values among the undergraduates.
A Christmas carol is a hymn whose lyrics are on the theme of Christmas. The first specifically Christmas hymns for Christians that we know of, appear in fourth century Rome. These carols were traditionally sung in the period immediately surrounding the holidays.
The UoC Carol Service will take Place on the 6th of December (Friday) from 3.30p.m onwards at the New Arts Theater (NAT). Rev.Fr.Benedict Joseph the Spokesperson of the Archdiocese of Colombo will grace the event.
