Doors open, doors close
Ones enter, ones depart
Time and time again, without end
How weary this all makes me now.
Many dream of immortality
Of endless limitless life
Yet, naïve they remain to this day
Does anything come without a price?
To those, who ask me, if I paid mine
Oh yes, I most certainly did
And sometimes I wish I did decline,
The offer, though very tempting.
But alas, what’s done is done
And this, now, has become my lot
To watch those, who enter and depart
To see doors, open and close.
I’ll be here watching the world go by
Growing older at each turn,
I’ll be here watching you come and go
Until the end of all time.
