No longer can I cry and throw tantrums,
just to make you come running,
lift me up and cradle me in your arms…
But there are times I wish I could…
No longer can I utter strings of nonsensical words,
to lighten your mood,
and make you smile…
But there are times I wish I could…
No longer can I pick up my pillow and sheet,
and march into your room,
announcing I’m scared of the ghosts in mine,
But there are times I wish I could…
Miles away from home,
thinking of your face,
Possibly with a frown,
wondering what I’m up to, every then and now…
Leave all this and run back home,
to show you that I’m good and sound..
One of those times I wish I could!
